![]() The workouts aren't just for the players who wish to make basketball their future, but they're also for the players who just want to have fun and for the players who don't know quite yet. We are NOT here to replace your club or school team, nor are we here to overexert or add any pressure to anyone. Our workouts can very easily coincide with other sports throughout the year for the multi-sport athlete. We are here as a supplemental aid and as a guide to those who might need one. Xi Basketball wishes to instill within its members essential tools for life through the game of Basketball. We're here to have fun and to learn how to incorporate a funner experience in a truly effortful environment. We're here to make non-words like "funner" and "effortful" real and inspirationally tangible to those who might gaze upon us. Jon Sanders is a former professional basketball player who is dedicated to improving the quality of Colorado basketball, as well as the quality of each player's lives - on and off the court. ![]() Xi Basketball is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that offers a year's worth of basketball workouts for as low as $5 per workout. Twice a week for 40 weeks, members are taught basketball and life skills, physically trained, and inspired to have fun. We also offer motivational gifts and optional study halls for those who need it. Our website offers member profiles, a leaderboard, and much more. ![]() Xi's workouts will be primarily located in and around the Westminster area. That includes Thornton, Arvada, Broomfield, and everywhere in between. Keep our low prices in mind when considering long commutes from other cities. Along with our flexible schedule of times and days of the week, it's more than worth the trip. ![]() There's an obvious need for professional trainers this day and age to keep pace with the growing competition around the world, but we believe this need doesn't licence anyone to up the price. There's also a growing need to go to college, and a college scholarship can be the most crucial of things. There's no need for these essentials to merely be the luxuries of the elite, in regard to skill or socioeconomic status. There is another way. With Xi Basketball - for just $5 a workout - you can get much more than just an individually-focused exercise. You can get something that will not only give you a great chance of reaching your potential, but an amazing opportunity to affect things in your life beyond the walls of basketball. During the Fall, we'll make you better... During the season, we'll keep you honed... And during the course of the year, we'll give you a lot more than can be written on any web page. ![]() For 40 weeks (with breaks for holidays, school priorities, etc.), there will be 2 to 3 workouts per week. View our upcoming events on the main page, and subscribe to our newsletter to keep up with what's going on within the Xi family. ![]() Diligence, intelligence, and skill are each very important entities… but the combination and utilization of those defining characteristics are what have the potential to transform those who’ve acquired them from students to teachers, from sayers to doers, and from dreamers to people who have realized all of their dreams coming true. Xi Basketball has a dream: We want kids to know what they have to do to do what they want to do. We want to supply students with the greatest chance at a college education possible. We want everyone to realize - through the game of basketball - that life is not just a potentially very fun game, but that it’s a game we can win. Xi basketball is for players of all levels, in regards to skill and experience. The 80 workouts for the year are split into 4 quarters (Yep, just like a game), and each quarter will have a few main drills that, coupled with attendance and levels of effort, give a competitive goal for each Xi member to aspire. The top 5 Xi members of each quarter will be promoted one level (view details) and will be invited to participate in an extra weekly workout with older college players and pros the entire following quarter. Each workout is set up to be an hour long. Players are expected to show up 15 minutes prior to stretch and to warm-up; and most will want to stay 15 minutes extra, although that is completely optional (and free!). During the hour-long workout session, we won't just teach... We'll explain to ingrain. We'll acquaint them with a multitude of drills and plays founded on various philosophies and coaching styles in order to maximize their ability to adapt, to be coachable, and to succeed more efficiently than their peers. Each member will develop equally the skills and mindsets of being a guard, a shooter, a penetrator, a post, and a defender while strengthening their finesse, quickness, power, and intelligence of the game. Having them in groups of 12 will also give each player the chance to develop their team skills, rather than just their individual skill (seeing as how basketball is a team game). Each week will have its own focus, and each workout will touch on the fundamental aspects of basketball by introducing a facet, then showing how to counter what has just been taught, then explaining to them how to counter that counter and so on. In addition to the workouts, there will also be study halls offered twice a week. As with all of the workouts, study halls are optional as well. With the workouts being so inexpensive, all a player has to do is show up to 1 out of every 10 workouts to make it monetarily worthwhile. The workouts are flexible, adjusting to the needs of each player, and the schedule is very flexible so that no one feels constrained. So now there's no pressure beyond what each player decides to voluntarily instill within themselves. Xi points are all that's at stake, and you earn those easily by just showing up, giving an honest effort, and acquiring a bit of skill along the way. Through this, players should not only be motivated to improve themselves, but they'll learn how to inspire others. And, by example or by sheer will, our impact will raise the bar for youth basketball in our area. And - after all is said and done - when someone asks a successful Xi player how they became great and who's responsible for them becoming great, they'll be able to confidently point at themselves. |
